mtk --helpDetailed Technical Overview
MTKClient is a powerful utility designed for MediaTek (MTK) chipset devices. It bypasses bootloader security using low-level BROM exploits, enabling partition dumping, firmware flashing, bootloader unlocking, and physical extraction.
Configuration & Usage Guide
To initialize and configure MTKClient for telecom security audits, follow these steps:
- 1Power off the MediaTek device completely.
- 2Run the client in read-partition mode: mtk r boot boot.img
- 3Hold the volume down button and connect the device via USB to trigger BROM bypass.
Troubleshooting & Security Audits
MTKClient Audit Warning
If the bypass fails, try different button combinations (volume up + down) or check if udev rules for MediaTek USB devices are installed.
